Collaboration is Where the Magic Happens

The whole idea of working with others to achieve a common purpose is beyond beneficial for your business. Collaboration should be at the heart of your process. It is simply teamwork taken to a higher level.

Collaboration can be real-time interactions as in online meetings, in office, instant messages, or Skype calls. Another form is where the interaction can be time-shifted, as when uploading documents or annotations to shared workspaces. Whatever form you chose, having outside opinions and contributions make a difference in the end result.

We rely on our collaboration meetings. We purposely carve out time for breakouts with one another because over time we have seen how much of an impact it has on our productivity and the success rate of projects. Which is why we created App Camp years ago!

App Camp allows our team to collaborate with clients in the most productive way possible. It is a 30-day process which begins with a full day kick-off meeting in our awesome new office. These meetings are designed to pool our knowledge and our clients’ collective ideas and thoughts in one room. Just imagine what can be done in the course of a month!

Collaborating with your team, or even those you’ve teamed up with, create awareness, productivity, accountability, met deadlines, motivation, self-synchronization, and participation from all ends of the spectrum. We become part of a working entity with a shared purpose. We drive to gain consensus on problem solving or development. We expect more from ourselves and others. We negotiate together, consider alternatives and find a middle point. And most importantly, we proactively engage rather than wait and see.

In order for collaboration to work effectively in your workspace, your team needs to be open and willing to share their knowledge. This gives team members a strong sense of purpose and allows equal participation. Thinking and brainstorming ideas to provide solutions is a key element that brings companies together. Because after all, collaboration is where the magic happens.
